What does the highway beautification act say? It's a federal law so does it only apply to interstate highways? May some? many? states (such as TX) have passed similar laws for state highways.
And in texas, there is Highway Transportation Code 391... also 392, 393 very extensive... based on the highway beautification act... and of course you have city ordinances... which can strengthen the law but not weaken the law... I have the hardcopy of the highway transportation code 391... but right now the site is down...
I had a successful event at the westheimer street festival... made lots of contacts of concerned people in all parts of houston...
There is an event I plan to attend this evening, with a grand opening of a police storefront in the Hieghts ...and then this weekend another event in southwest houston in the Fondren area... Public awareness events will continue... This morning the CE in houston will be speaking before city council during a public hearing...

B.B. you mean that little sliver of a sign approximately 1 to 2 inches wide, so you and your colleagues will not benefit from FINANCIALLY...
B.B. when did you and your colleagues get permission to put signs up on traffic poles... the poles have one purpose and that is traffic information...
B.B. when did you and your colleagues get permission to put signs up on utility poles... those poles are owned by the local energy and phone companies... And placing signs on these poles are considered TRESPASSING... and as citizens against ugly street spam...we do have permission to destroy your signs.. The energy companies have even stated that the placement of your signs on utility poles is a safety hazard (because of all the nails, staples, etc... And OSHA is concerned...
Hypocrit.... naw,... but the Highway Beautification Act, will become a Reality... And right now we are giving you and the public an education... and when you and your colleagues stop placing your signs up, There will be no need to "slash", or "paint" and or "trash". And the few who decide to abuse the sign law, well we will cya in court...
People are becoming aware that they can take back their roadways... and there will be a change... its all about Public Awareness. more events being scheduled... using every opportunity...
By the way,,, the Own a Computor put it to Work (large and small version signs)... well they are now R.I.P. and they had less than a 4 hour life span... on all kinds traffic poles... I must have been just behind the spammers... ----------------------
