Dear Editor – Generally I do not respond to anonymous letters in your columns but the correspondence from “Pride in Stirling” (September 14), deserves a reply on matters relating to cleanliness.

Stirling Council consistently wins awards for keeping our streets clean and yet we still have serious problems with littering.

Where I share the concerns with”Pride in Stirling”, is the failure of our own residents to take responsibility for looking after this wonderful inheritance we have.

That leads to the question – what can we collectively do to improve the situation......

There is a growing number of advertising boards obstructing our pavements and illegal signs going on lamppost’s.

There is a new procedure agreed by Council to regulate Advertising Boards and we will be asking traders to adhere to the new policy.

Advertising boards are Bandit signs, maybe. This is an UK NEWS organization, and it seems to fit the profile and on topic for this forum.
