Idea of a volunteer posse looking out for violators floated at meeting
Keeping up with all of the illegal signs littering State Street on a near-constant basis is a nearly impossible task for the city, even when there was a full-time employee in charge of code compliance.
"Even when we had a Code Compliance Officer, he would start on one part of State Street, and by the time he got to the end, the ones he busted earlier were coming back up," said Planning Director Charley Stump Wednesday during the Ukiah Planning Commmore....
