Companies hard to trace, municipalities say

Do you want to get paid $300 to have your old car hauled away?
When Cheverly administrator David Warrington saw the multiple signs posted in his town advertising the service, he called right away but not for a tow.
Warrington asked the company to cough up $50 for each sign it peppered light and telephone poles with at Kilmer Street and Landover Road. They committed a municipal code infraction.
“We said, ‘Hi, how are you? Here's your ticket,’” Warrington said. “We wrote them, seven or eight or nine or 10 tickets.”
