Here's an opportunity for you to participate in a widely read and potentially impactful platform.
It's a stock trading bulletin board on Yahoo!. Normally, people discuss the purchase and selling of Herbalife stock but recently, the subject of illegal signs has sparked a lively (to put it mildly) debate over the matter. Even uglylitter.com has entered the fray.
It's important for all sharks to participate in this discussion:
1. HerbaLife corporate reads the messages....... because it's a stock message board.
2. A representation of citizens from around the country will magnify and heighten the public's awareness of a national problem. By the way...... most people think that the Spam is just in "their" neighborhood or city...... they have no idea of the scope of the problem.
P.S. don't forget to put a link to CAUSS in your post.

Good idea. Companies like Herbalife need to wake up and realize that they don't live in a vacuum. There's a whole world of annoyed and spam weary citizens out there.

>Please guys and gals, let's keep it clean and above board don't let these suckers draw you into a urinating contest. > GW, you'll be proud of us. The hammering on the sign issue in that BB has been remarkably focused, consistently deflecting the BS arguments from herbalifers back to the sign issue. And there hasn been NO flaming from our side.
As GW requests, let's keep it that way and hold on to the moral high ground. It's the best way to get herbalife corporate understand that we mean business.

It seems like the sharks are being pretty nice about it over there. Herbalife proponents are trying to goad and belittle the sharks, but it's not working. The focus has been solely on the street spam issue, not even touching on the dubious quality of Herbalife's products. I think Herbalife supporters are mostly used to defending their product against snake oil accusations, and they simply have no valid response against all the ugly spam that's in our neighborhoods, as well as theirs.

Right you are. The good guys in that forum have been magnificent in responding calmly to even the most juvenile name-calling and staying focused on the signs. I'm damn proud of all of them.
Besides which, it drives people nuts if they try to pick a fight with you and you don't give them one.
What will be REALLY funny will be (I think it's inevitable) when one of the herbalifers complains to Yahoo that we're trolling the board...Yahoo will look into it and see that the herbalifers are the ones with the abusive messages.
Also, it's amusing to see, as the discussion drags on, how the herbalifers trot out all the same old stale crap they've thrown at us here..."with all the other troubles in the world"..."how can you complain about signs after 9-11"..."you're like people who murder abortion doctors"..."you're just picking on the poor, struggling small business people"....
This HAS to be from a script. It's too similar. But not one "Freedom of Speech" argument yet...guess they've finally understood that dog won't hunt anymore.
I wonder who that guy from Canada is who posted the first message about the signs? He deserves a medal (or at least our heartfelt thanks).

I don't know but I'd be willing to be that Simon over at uglylitter.com knows and would likely share that information.
On the first amendment business, we've been down that road about eighteen months ago and several of the spammers got that one jambed up their rear end big time.
I can't remember who it was, but there were enough links to "First Amendment Rights" rulings from the Supreme Court BB to fill the Smithsonian. They immediately got off that band wagon and started this "world poverty and starving children" business, like that had something to do with illegal sign posting.

Also, don't forget to click on "Recommend this post" for posts that are well-written and convincing. I think this helps them percolate to the top in yahoo's search algorithm. It's funny, but when I search for HERBA from the yahoo.message.com page, a whole slew of hits pop up linking Herbalife to street spam!
