"i9 sports "Flag Football, Cheerleading, Basketball""

Hello From WA CEO.

We have a group called i9 sports placing signs in the right of way near most of our schools. Looking on the website for the group they are selling franchises for $50k, but claim they are a charity, non-profit. Has anyone else seen these signs and how have they been addressed? Or has anyone done research into the group? Thanks for any help you can provide.

They've showed up here in Austin, as well. I don't remember what,
if anything, I did with them.

Thanks for the heads up. I've seen them in Denver and left them alone because I thought they were community-building events.

From now on, they get removed, just like other illegal signs.

They've been all over here for years. Private business sports = removed.

Oh, there's a hint of cool in the air, and Winter is coming! I've got to gather more firewood... And Sign stakes make great fire starters!

Ack! Bandit Signs are LITTER!

Yes, I have removed many of these signs in the Charlotte NC area over the last few years.
I use their tel. to send junk calls to other spammers, and I send them junk calls.
I don't know if they are a non profit group.

You can look up the name of the franchise owner on their website. When you report them to CE make sure you include their name.

We had trouble with the local franchisee here in Austin and I looked up his info on the main web site.

Since they didn't have a traditional business office and just used the web, I got lucky and was able to locate his personal residence (half million dollar house, BTW) through our county real estate records.

I turned the info over to our Zoning Enforcement and we have had little to no trouble with him since, at least in my area of operation.

"Looking on the website for the group they are selling franchises for $50k, but claim they are a charity, non-profit."

This is a for profit business, pure and simple. Nobody spends $50K on a franchise without some expectation of making a profit. Maybe this needs to be turned over to some States' AGs and let them slam dunk the franchisor.

I'm writing from Westchester County, New York. They do this all the time. Called the corporate office, because they provide the franchisees with the signs - they put it back on the franchisee.

Here's a complaint I just wrote on another site - including a copy-and-paste of their Craiglist ad looking for someone to put up their "Guerilla Marketing" signs:

i9Sports, a for-profit franchised youth sports business, places illegal advertising signs on the side of public and private roads, rather than using paid advertising to support their for-profit sports leagues.

This is illegal in most if not all of the towns where they do it (it is certainly illegal in New York). These ugly eyesore signs distract drivers, hurt property values for property owners, and drain taxpayer resources for their removal - whether it's law enforcement, sanitation, or code enforcement, it costs taxpayers money.

My complaint specifically refers to their Westchester County, New York franchise. i9Sports franchisee Brent Bass is a bad corporate citizen, transfering his advertising costs to the community. Imagine if every business put signs on the side of the road! Your community would look like a garbage heap, especially after the signs blew away or got covered with mud, which they do if the municipalities don't have the funds to remove them. (PS - these signs are made of Coroplast - a non-recyclable material. So much plastic going to landfills, because a company isn't willing to foot its own advertising bill and instead puts it on the community.

Please contact Mr. Bass to ask him to stop: bbass@i9sports.com / 914-997-7529. And call the corporate headquarters too if this is taking place in your area of the US.

Proof of the local franchisee's actions is seen below in its current Craigslist ad looking for someone to place signs for them:
