"Out of state spammers"

What are the latest theories on the out of state street spams that pop
up? Here in Austin, Texas I found signs for www.jobcomfort.com
which appears to be based in West Jordan, Utah. I sent the contacts a
polite e-mail asking them to cease littering.

I can think of a few possibilities: (a) they hire mules to place these
signs out-of-state, (b) they went on a long road trip as others have
observed with certain Arizona spammers, or (c) the whois contact
info is incorrect.

If you check out www.jobcomfort.com, you'll find that they have an address of Temple, TX listed. I've noticed that all of the "Home Business System International" sites are registered to a Fritz Conrad somewhere around Salt Lake City, Utah. However, each of these sites has the address prominently located at the top. In addition, if you go to www.{sitename}.com/mentor.asp, you'll find the spammer's name(s) listed. http://www.jobcomfort.com/mentor.asp lists "Shaunnah/Rachel Moreno/Ybarra" as being the newest participants in the pyramid. (Although, if there are two participants, why doesn't it say "We learned the business system from the ground up" instead of "I learned the business system..."?)

Excellent detective work, Elkman.

According to the reverse search at InfoUSA, the listed resident is Rachael L Ybarra at 254-778-1206. In many cases, the HerbaLife distributor may try to outwit anyone who may try to discover their full identity. The street address, by the way, is Glenwood Drive not Avenue.

However, there is an S Moreno at 254-771-3899 listed with InfoUSA. The street address is not given but the ZIP code is the same.

If you want them to stop, send a letter or fax to HerbaLife with your local code, information you've collected, and locations of the signs. Send a copy to Moreno/Ybarra.

I faxed Herbalife using the free fax service at zipfax.com and asked
them to tell several Austin spammers to cease. I only provided them
the telephone numbers of the spammers.

I also cited to them Chapters 392 and 393 of the Texas Transportation
Act and asked them to alert all of their Texas-affiliated distributors
that signs are not permitted in the ROW of any state maintained
road.

It will be interesting to see how responsive they are to my requests.

Did you give them a way to reply to you directly (I can understand why you'd be hesitant to do that), or are you hoping for a reduction in new signs as confirmation that they did something about your complaint?

I'm planning to complain to them as well, but haven't been sure if I ought to give them any personal information to enable a reply.

If they do reply to you, I'm sure you'll share the response with us - it would be REAL interesting to see what they say.

I have never received a callback from HerbaLife........but I have seen that the offenders are not around anymore.....

I hope that you included the number of signs and the locations.....it's important to let them know if a person is flagrantly posting signs all over town.

Also, I found out that there are 2 fax numbers:

#1 (310) 258-7019
#2 (310) 258-7022

Oh, yeah, I'm building an irrefutable "information package" to send to Herbalife, with a digital camera photo of each sign (just one per URL) and the pole number where each one was mounted.

We'll see what happens.

Thanks for the info,

Redstone
