"WEIGHT LOSS PLAN.....AGAIN!!!!"

Last week, the latest scam promoting weight loss arrived in Charlotte NC, posting numerous signs. The tel no is 877-724-2008.
Callers get a recorded mesage, and are asked to leave a call back no. I left numerous messages, other street spammers in the area are being called back to see if they want to buy the product.
yWhy don't you sharks in other states use this no. also?

Hi:

What does the sign say? Old Herbalife signs typically said Loose 10 Pounds, etc..

The signs advertise: "lose 22 lbs. in 3 weeks Scientifically proven"
or somrthing loke that.
I'll look into this a little further, and post more info later.

carman:

I read your post last night; I'm still chuckling this morning!

Interesting tactic...I'm sure there are going to be some confused people on both ends of that phone line when these calls are made.

I have found that getting street spammers to call one another is a very effective means of reducing the problem. They really hate to waste time. They have to answer the phone, or at least listen to messages . After a few days of receiving unwanted phone calls, I call the spammers and tell them,"JUNK SIGNS PRODUCE JUNK PHONE CALLS."
I ask them to use a legal means of advertising.
If you use this tactic, be sure the calls can not be traced back to you.
I use a TracFone, I paid cash for the phone, I pay cash for calling cards.

Also note that anyone with an 800 number has access to all numbers that call in.

That's true, even if you use call blocking. Your ID gets sent with your call, even if you use blocking. Blocking only tells the id box not to show the number. They can use boxes that show the number anyway and that will just ignore the blocking command.
