I've retrieved a significant fraction of tax prep signs in my area, and surprisingly several of the franchises are advertising with sign-holding people in costume around here instead. I always give costumed sign holders a wave when I go by because I'd rather have someone being paid by the hour to look silly than have to stop and pull up signs.
My question to managers that scatter signs 1/4 mile along the road in each direction from their shop is "If you can't be trusted to follow local ordinances, how can I be sure you're following federal tax rules?" If I had the foresight to print stickers that say it, I'd have put the stickers on and transplanted the signs onto the shop's property. Instead, I just remove them. If the manager advertised some other way, may be the store would have more business.

Liberty is the worst, around here. One franchise plastered the area with spam signs for miles... I got every one. Then, they placed these flags on aluminum posts, bent at the top... in the medians around here. You guessed it, I got every one. Those had to be a signficant cost, and took down a dozen and cut them up and turned them over to the County.

Oh, there's a hint of cool in the air, and Winter is coming! I've got to gather more firewood... And Sign stakes make great fire starters!

Here's a colbert picture with 8 signs in this row. 5 locations in this area used to look like this.
Here's another picture of a vehicle used as a Tax sign. It's on a rack above the ground, on a car lot. The registration has not been renewed for years.

I can see the "06 taxes" used to be "04" then "05".
And the sign frames are those good sturdy ones. All the ones I've removed are just wire stands.
Is that a person in the Liberty statue costume? Costumed people waving is all the Liberty has here, the signs that I've removed have been at other tax places - Liberty's either too low-budget here or they know better.

The Liberty person is a real person. Dress up like the Liberty statue, this man (attached picture is with pretty girl) walks around waving at cars.
This business not only capitalizes on this countries symbol, but also takes it and makes a mockery out of it for their personal gain, in my opinion. The exploitation bothers me as much as the signs.
Corporate only provides an on line submission form, and no email address. I would fire off an email, if I had their addy.
