"Any news from Herablife? (and questions)"

I thought this might be worth generating a new topic to cut down on the scrolling...

Has anyone sent a message to the Herbalife lady who talked to Signshark, and if so, any response yet? Things have been quiet around here (winter's getting close), so I haven't had a chance to test her willingness to follow through on complaints.

Also, two questions: If Herbalife does not condone the use of these signs, why have they (apparently) licensed a printing company (iPrecision Printing of Beltsville, MD) to obtain the domain name www.herbalifesigns.com so people can order the signs over the web? I can't imagine they'd just let this printer sell signs using the Hebalife name without some kind of contract.

(Wait, I just figured it out...Herbalife will say that they don't have any control over whether their dupes (sorry, distributors) put the signs in legal places or not.

Second: Signshark, if you feel comfortable posting the information, I'm curious about the class-action lawsuit. Will it be on behalf of the municipalities who pay the cost of removing the signs, or the individuals whose taxes are used to pay those costs?

Okay, actually three questions, and I know this one is inviting more tirades from our "guests." If Herbalife is such a great company, and such a wonderful opportunity, why is is that NOT ONE of the several dozen sign spammer websites I've visited says ONE WORD about SPECIFICALLY what they're trying to sell?

I may be dumb, but it seems to me that if you're selling a good product, and one that you're proud of, you wouldn't hesitate to TELL PEOPLE WHAT IT IS. It'll be interesting to see the "guest" response to this question.

One of the HerbaLifers recently said they were not allowed to use the name HerbaLife. Even the web sites don't use the name. I think they want you to swallow the hook and get committed to making $5000 per month before they tell you what you are getting into.

On one occasion about 2 years ago, I saw several signs that said "Call to get your Herbalife Products." Of course, I took the signs down but the Herbalife police may have seen them too and sent "Vinnie" to break that spammer's thumbs.

I just doublechecked the "herbalifesigns.com" website and there is indeed one sign template that says "Herbalife" on it. I think it's gotta be the "two-track" structure they have (that I think someone on this forum explained) where there are people who peddle the products, and others (100% of the sign spammers, in my experience) who sign up new rubes.

If this is the case, I would surmise that the only ones allowed to use the signs that say "Herbalife" are the small percentage who are actually selling the pills & powders, and that the ones selling the "make a fortune kit" are not allowed to use the name.

I guess the poor suckers who sign on to drink the Kool-Ade don't do a whole bunch of research before doing their part to dilute the gene pool; if so, they'd have noticed how many (75% of the ones I've seen) are the EXACT SAME WEBSITE (not a redirect; there's apparently a template they get when they sign on). And all the sites from this template imply (while being extremely careful not to make a claim in a legal sense) that they're some guy named "Steve" who is just rolling in the dough, with attendant sob story that's expertly written to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

It's actually pretty hilarious to read "Steve's" story if you have half a brain or any amount of BS detector active.

Whoa, maybe we should be shaking in our boots now...the "guests" on the forum have been blustering about the Herbalife Legal Department...maybe "Vinnie" IS the legal department!

Gotta run and hide under the bed now. See you later.

Some of them do if you look closely. Take a look at the web page of my pet spammer at http://LMHomeBody.com/ and his recent clone at http://ImagineAChange.com/ (Turn off sound; the music is horrible.) You won't find HerbaLife on the rendered page, but view the source and you will see

meta name="KEYWORDS"
content="Opportunity, Work at Home, Work from Home, Herbalife, Multi level marketing, MLM, Network Marketing, Cash, Income, Extra Income, Part-time work, Full-time work, Home-based business, Home office, Distributorship, Mail-order, direct mail, vitamins, health products, personal care products, career"

A google search turns up other (geographically distant) clones such as cultivatesuccess.com, tickettofortune.com, and earnincomehere.com. Sometimes the pictures are different; otherwise the sites are identical.

The domain names appear to be registered to the local dupes, but the admin and technical contact for all of those sites is
eBusinessforyou.net, Inc.

Westminster, MD 21157

Hey, Jason, this guy is right in your neighborhood. "u-r-incharge.com" is registered to:

Terence P. McNeese
31 Richard Rd.
Gales Ferry, CT 06335

So it sounds like there are two serial signs spammers in the New London area. You've probably grabbed signs for "uwilltoo.com" which was a real plague here until I called him. He put up new signs to test me, and I got them the next day and called him again. Then he stopped putting signs west of the Thames, but I've seen his signs since then all the way into Rhode Island.

If he starts up again, I'm going to save all of his signs that I take down, cut them in half, then leave them on his front porch. He knows this. If you find an infestation of "uwilltoo.com" signs, let me know and I'll give you his address.

Will post tonight or tomorrow in the CT forum with an update on the I-395 corridor north of you - I went through there today on my way back from a business trip.

Hmm, If i find any more from him, I'll snip them up into little pieces and put in his mailbox.

doesn't ring a bell, but I'll try and take a cruise down "2-lane" Rt. 2 to the border and 184 and or I-95 back. Lots of casino traffic out that way.

Sure will.

I hope all sharks will be careful not to cross the line when it comes to confrontation with spammers. Legally and ethically, we have the high ground and we should try to keep it thay way. Dumping sign parts might be littering and trespassing and that is a line I personally would not want to cross.

Good point. Much as I'd like to staple the signs all over the siding of his house, I won't. If I do return them to him, they'll be neatly bundled.

Keeping our "moral high ground" position is indeed important, and I appreciate the reminder.

A gratifying experience I'd like to pass along: I was taking down a sign in a shopping-center parking lot this morning, and there was a town trash ttruck and crew about 50 feet away. When the crew saw that my trunk was bulding with signs, they invited me to put them into the trash truck to save me a dump run.

There isn't much of anybody who likes these signs, except the spammers.
