"shark stick questions"

How does one go about making a shark stick?
Also, any ideas about how to make one that can be carried on a bicycle?

Hi:

Do a forum search on "shark stick" or "sharky stick". There have been many good posts describing how to make one. Here are some basic ideas:

1. Cut a length of electrical conduit (1 1/4" or so diameter). Put a bolt through one end to hook on to signs.

2. Get an extensible painters pole. Using a 3" metal "T" brace, wire and epoxy a box cutter to the end.

For a bike? I wonder if a length of heavy duty chain would allow you to whap a sign down. Or, make an extensible shark stick and cut it down to a manageable size. You could use pipe clamps to attach a tube of some sort (PVC?) vertically to the frame, then slide the shark stick into the tube.

Here what it looks like.

Shorten the length to 48" and you can easily carry it cross ways on the handle bars of a bike.

There's a user named "art time" who removes these signs while on his bike. He posted a few messages in the Minnesota forum. Here's one message where he described his technique: http://www.causs.org/htdocs/dcforum/DCForumID25/25.html

You can find his other messages by using the search function of this site and searching for "art time".
