"Day of reckoning"

Well, the signs have been out in full force around here the last couple of weeks. I've purposely left them up, just so I can nail them tomorrow after the April 30 deadline.

Does someone want to put together a small guide on how to make complaints to Herbalife's new compliance person? Do they want the actual sign, or a digital picture of it, or a picture of it still up on its pole?

And, how are they going to prove they've actually followed through and fined and/or canned the perpetrators? I have a feeling they will just throw away complaints and not act on them.

Beginning today we will find out if we can trust the words of Herbalife International. Will they act to motivate their distributors towards the path of lawfulness, or will their new policy be a hollow promise?

If you have a digital camera, I suggest snapping a photo before taking them down. I'm leaning away from notifying herbalife. I'll at least leave a message on their voicemail first.

We're waiting to hear from Rick Wolf on what actions AACE is taking regarding the reports. Time has basaically run out.
CAUSS will make an announcement by this weekend on suggested methods for reporting.

Starting tomorrow, 5/01, please document any signs posted by a Herbalife person with a digtal camera if at possible.

I happen to have the rest of the week off of work so I'll get in at least one weekday run -- but instead of removal of Herbalife signs, it will be documentation!

I plan on using the digital camera along with the front page of that day's Rocky Mountain News, just to prove the sign was there after the April 30th deadline.

I am not sure about leaving the signs up.
I would like to suggest that we start with a clean slate wherever possible.
In my area, I would like to be aware of NEW signs that appear as of 5/1/02 and so would recommend either picking what is KNOWN to be a clear area or by clearing the area oneself. Perhaps even document the moment with a 'clean' photograph. THEN monitor what signs go up and follow GW's directions.

I cleaned southwest Fort Worth tonight. I had found only one or two signs on each trip around my area for the last five months, but I got 15 tonight around Hulen Mall. Ten of them were from a Herbaloser that I hadn't seen before. I called the 800 numbers and reminded them about the penalty that is supposed to be imposed.

This, my friends, is an exciting time to be alive.

We are seeing a day dawn where our efforts have made a change for the future of America. Work from home, Have a computer?, & 30 lbs. in 30 days are poised to disappear forever from the landscape. A blight, a virus, a scourge on America and the world. We did it!

Thank you very much.

cockeyed, I drive through northrop and howe ave daily, and guess what I saw on a pole in front of the taco bell there?
a brand new, clean, bone-white paper-on-cardboard sign for 877-391-DIET.
Just put up last night or today (tuesday)

Looks like they don't know, don't care, or think April 30th is the last day they're "allowed to put up signs legally"

We should try to find out who 877-391-DIET is and report them to Herbalife. I hate those ugly signs. I have removed quite a few of them. If any show up in West Sacramento I WILL REMOVE THEM and report them to Herbalife.

To report illegal Herbalife signs you should record all the information from the sign including the location, phone number and website address. Taking a digital photograph of the sign is a good idea. You can remove the sign.

Call Herbalife at 310-410-9600 during business hours on the West Coast (Herbalife is based in Los Angeles). Ask to speak with "Distributor Relations". Tell the representative you are reporting illegal signs posted by an Herbalife distributor. Give them all the information about the sign and tell them that you want action taken against the distributor. Make note of the phone representative's name. You can also ask for a fax number or e-mail address to send documentation to.

One key to this is to be patient and polite and you will get a much better reception, Remember that the person you are talking to is merely a low paid telephone representative. They are not the corporate decision makers. The top management has already stated that they will not tolerate illegal signs.

Ask for a callback with a status report. They may or may not call you back. If enough of us call I think we will see some action taken by Herbalife corporate against criminal distributors.

Guys:

We're working on a proposal for reporting the signs to Hebalife that doesn't entail having to speak with a telephone receptionist type.

We'll try and have that out to you by days' ends.

Personally I'm fortunate to have a very large day/date stamp capability on my ditigals.

GW has led the group so far and, with all your help, has done pretty good up to now.
I urge you to bear with him as he requests.

On a personal level I can see no point in leaving the signs up and gratifying the poster.
I believe they done this act a last act of defiance but don't see it lasting long.
We are now in a better position. It's like being given 'the bird' from a passing vehicle, only to find him stationary at the next set of lights ouch

I had time yesterday to only scout out signs in my regualar area. I found two from Herbalifer Paula Mindell and one from Herbalifer Linda Evans. I went back out to day with my old digital camera and WOW! They were already gone.

I'm SURE it wasn't them pulling down their own signs as I saw some creative stickering and shark bites on some signs that had been up longer. There apparently are a few dedicated sharks around here that took care of the problem

The best part about it? Now I KNOW the area is clean. If I see any new Herbalife signs out -- I'll jump all over reporting it to my regional contact.
