"Street spam bilboards"

Last weekend I went up to Las Vegas. While on the way there I saw a "Work at Home" bilboard. Sounds like the street spammers are trying to find new ways to advertise their scams. Also looks like we are having a big effect on them as well.

First bill they get for the billboard, will be the end of the outdoor advertising.

Actually, I bet someone at the top of the pyramid is paying for the billboard and asking everyone in his/her downline to contribute. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy at the top of the pyramid actually rakes in more money from the downline than it actually costs to put up the billboard, too. It's kind of like that "recruiting wheel" thing we've seen before.

You're probably right on that one.
Didn't give it thought, as in "mandatory" ad fee.
Wonder how long it will take these "suckers" to figure that one out?

I haven't seen one. Is it for herbalife? Is the company name posted? I've got nothing against billboards.

I've got everything against billboards. It's exactly the same set of complaints I have against signs on the utility poles. They're ugly, they're out of place, and mostly, they're involuntary advertising. I can't avoid them.

Advertising on voluntary media is the price I pay (or don't pay) to look at the medium (or not look at it.) I accept that the price for reading newspaper stories is to look at the ads. But I don't accept that I owe Herbalife or any other advertiser my eyeball space for the right to walk down the street.

I'm sorry it's not illegal.

I have to agree with uglylitter on billboards. Since they are presumed legal, I refrain from chopping them down.

You can do better than that, Signsupporter. Billboards have nothing to do with free speech. Or did you sleep through your high school U.S. Government class?

There was no company listed. It was your typical "Work at Home" sign put up on a bilboard with black text and a orange background.

All it had was a phone number and a URL. It didn't have a company name on it.

Actually, billboards are going for a pretty cheap price right now. The advertising-dollars slump has hit the outdoor advertising industry pretty hard. I wouldn't be surprised to hear it cost next-to-nothing for a short term, plain vanilla BB.

Of course, the upline would still charge a fortune to the drones underneath.

you guys seem awfully concerned for people on a downline....perhaps you should take a collection or enlist Jerry Lewis for a fundraiser to help them out.....are you just as envious toward people at the top of a company who reaps the rewards of capitalism?

I've decided to advertise the business I own by spray painting our logo on Sign Supporter's house and car.

Oh, did you open up a business that sells paint removal systems, or a business that helps people start their own business selling paint removal systems?

There's an idea...start a business that tells people how to get other people to send money for information on how to get other people to send money for information on how to get other people to send money for information on how to...

I'm dizzy all of a sudden.

Better yet: I'm going to start a business that, for a small "protection" fee, will keep people from spray-painting your car with advertising.
