CAUSS has recently come under some serious spam attacks. With five administrators and numerous moderators in all four US time zones, the spam was dispatched will all due haste. The recent article in the Katy (TX) Courier apparently brought on these attacks. We reserve comments on this upstart media publication.
It appears that the same group of spammers that CAUSS has dealt with in the past is primarily responsible for the latest round of spam flooding the forums in an attempt to shut down to the forums.
For this reason it is necessary to implement certain safety precautions to insure the forums remain up and running. You may notice on occasions that it is necessary to login although you have your browser set to “auto”. We have a utility in place that insures the safety and security of the forums. It’s now necessary to run this utility as needed and likely no less than once per 72-hour period.
If you don’t remember your password then take the appropriate action on the sign-in page and your password will be sent accordingly. However, if you are using an invalid email address, you can reasonably expect that you will not receive password verification. We’ll gladly reset your password, however, you must provide a valid email, the same as going through the ‘Contact Us” on the home page. We apologize for any inconvenience.
As in the past, the spammers have attempted everything possible to discredit the credibility of CAUSS. They have taken excerpts from the CAUSS forums, and added their own words. In addition they are taking carefully selected excerpts from the Katy Courier and have posted these comments on numerous Code Enforcement websites including the American Association of Code Enforcement (AACE) website, in order to make us look like a bunch of out of control vigilantes.
It is more than obvious that what you are doing in the way of bandit sign removal is working. Since the spammers can’t do anything to vent their anger and frustrations toward the goods folks of CE, they are taking it out on CAUSS.
But that’s OK; our numbers far outweigh their numbers. Thanks for the support and keep up the good work.
