At lunch today in Dallas, at Hillcrest NB south of LBJ Freeway, I was making my rounds and headed toward a sign spam that I had seen in the morning on my way to work. As I was a 1/4 block away, I spotted a white car in the office complex parking lot driving slowly near the telephone pole where the sign was posted. As I got closer, I saw the City of Dallas Code Enforcement seal on the door!
I pulled into the parking as the CE officer was removing a sign. I got out of my car and told him I wanted to shake his hand. I did and we spoke. I showed him my trunk full of signs. He showed me his collection. I told him how good it was to see him out in my neighborhood doing this.
He gave me his name and contact information for me to call if I see a sudden wave of sign spam. He was very earnest and seemed like a really good guy. Keep in mind that in Dallas at noon today it was 100 degrees or slightly worse and he was taking down signs for us!
He said he was new to CE. Way to go Officer Andrews!
