"CAUSS Supporters to soon be in "Hot Water""

I am writing purely out of amazement.
You people claim to be all about being "law biting citizens". Yet today at Jones and Sahara in Las Vegas. One of you decided to take our signs down. Which I said I had NO PROBLEM with being that they have been up for 2 weeks and I had planned on taking them down this weekend.

However I was going to be taking them down and disposing of them LEGALLY.

One of you. Which I know it was one of you because you represent .2% of the majority took down these signs. Illegally! You took the signs down and threw them onto medians, private property, roadways and public right of ways. Which with the valley wind they are now being scattered to the winds. At least before I knew where to go to take these down. Now it's litter.

On top of that I have spoken directly to Code Enforcement and Metro today. Apparently, even though our signs are illegally displayed, you can not put stickers or even write on them. Because it is vandalism.

To sum up. CAUSS supports vigilante activity, littering and vandalism.

So not only is your "cause" the most meager and trite cause in existence. BUT you are also hypocrites. I told you very expressly that if you continued such activities that my effots would be tripled. Now they will. Our signs were up for two weeks. Most still up. 1,000+. Starting December I will be on another campaign.

If you have any back bone at all you will GO BACK to where you removed these signs, pick them up and bring them to me ASAP before they blow into storm drains and etc. causing even more of a mess.

To CAUSS.org: Get your little puppies under control and send them out with legitmate law biting strategies.

Ok...that answers the question of where you are. And what
is your business, again? If I were in Vegas, I guess I could
go to Jones and Sahara to find out.

And you know that it wasn't the valley wind that knocked them
down in the first place? I've picked up some pretty shabbily
placed signs in my day.

I've returned hundreds of signs to their original owners...

YO Pal,

It’s your spammer buddies that you aught to be confronting.

I had a conversation yesterday with a spammer who I had called to let him know that I removed his signs (and disposed in the trash). To say the least, he was mad.

The spammer said that he was going to check and if his signs were missing, he was going to rip down every sign along Jones, which just happens to be in your exact area. Wow, how ironic. I thanked this guy for his help in removing the signs and asked that he properly dispose of the signs in the trash. He said that he was going to throw them on the ground.

Well I must say, this was one honest spammer. He did both things that he said he would do. He removed the signs and he threw them on the ground.

So, if your mad and upset that your signs are unfortunately laying (hopefully face down) on the streets, I think you should be looking to your fellow spammers as the culprits.

Were here to help clean our streets, not trash them!

Making a difference and keeping it clean

>I am writing purely out of amazement.

We're sharks by nickname, yes, but I don't think we bite any laws.

And we should just take your word for that... why? They were posted illegally for two weeks, and "oh yeah, I was really gonna take those down!"
Hmmm...

>One of you. Which I know it was one of you because you
>represent .2% of the majority took down these signs.

And how do you know it was someone from here? As others have said, it could have been that angry *other* spammer. I know in my AO that teenage hoodlums tear down some signs for the fun of it, and I've seen an older gent kick down signs in the ROW, apparently in anger. "Tear 'em down and leave 'em" does NOT sound like the MO of anyone who posts here.

>On top of that I have spoken directly to Code Enforcement and

>displayed, you can not put stickers or even write on them.

>

No, CAUSS does NOT support illegal activity. CAUSS is a loose-knit collection of people who post here to exchange ideas and give each other support. Some members may bend or break the law in their efforts to keep their neighborhood clean, but it is the stated purpose of CAUSS to behave within the law.

>So not only is your "cause" the most meager and
>trite cause in existence. BUT you are also hypocrites.

Hypocrites, how? We want to remove unsightly, illegal signage from our neighborhoods. We do that.

> I told you very expressly that if you continued such activities that
>my effots would be tripled. Now they will. Our signs were up
>for two weeks. Most still up. 1,000+.

Told who, when, and how? And why would we care if a blustering hot-head "warned" us he was going to spam again? "Somebody ssstop me!" (With apologies to Jim Carey)

>Starting December I will be on another campaign.

And starting in December, I'd be willing to bet our LV sharks will be on the lookout!

>To CAUSS.org: Get your little puppies under control and send
>them out with legitmate law biting strategies.

As above: CAUSS is a loosely-knit group. No one here has authority or power over anyone here but themselves. ('cept for the Moderators if posts get too nasty here in the forums.)
So your empty threats are really emptier than you thought!

Oh - and we still don't bite any laws.

Talked to Metro last week they said they ll step up their graveyard patrol for people like you who put the illegal sign up in the first place.
Stop complaining because u see a few good citizen trying to clean up the city
Oh yea, Are you are a sign shop? Sounds like it "Ill make a 1000s more" quote unquote. How many signs do you need to make to try and make a buck 2000, 3000. Walmart doesnt need any and their doing pretty good last time I checked.

And we look organized but we are independent. Didn't C.E. tell you you can't even advertise for two minutes on their property.

Runic, -- Wow, 106 replies so far on this thread. You have got us going now. Thanks for posting and participating. I have been reading when time permitted, and I just got caught up. Well over 60 pages printed out.

People posting on this website usually pick up litter, unless there is a specific reason to do otherwise, nor lay the sign down on the ground. The two forum posters in Vegas have disclosed their mode of operation in this forum for long time. They participate in on going discussions. Pops has been out gluing CAUSS stickers to signs; he is trying to get some help to remove them. How did you find this website? As important, did the sign on the ground have a sticker on it?

Concerning the 15 days to leave the sign up on a utility pole, you may be original to this knowledge.

CE should/would remove the street corner sign Before they contact you. There is no 15-day grace period on public property for signs on utility poles. They are removed upon CE inspection. If your city doesn’t function this way, it should.
Every city operates differently, however, removing the sign would seem rather standard. That needs to be double-checked.

However, your 15-day theory Does apply to signs on private property. (10 days around here) Please understand, I have not read the code in Vegas, so I’m going by my area codes. If you have an un-permitted sign in front of your brick and mortar store out of code, CE should site you a notice of violation (NOV). As you have stated, you have 15 days. You indicated you would remove the signs to comply, so your sign would be gone. Obviously, no one has complained, or maybe the CE does not enforce that code. Signs are often a low priority in some cities. If you display the sign again around here, CE would contact you again only if another complaint were filed. Most cities seem to lack long-term enforcement once compliance is obtained and the case is closed.

Concerning your off-site signs: Do you have the address on the sign? Or phone number? If so, you are easy to find. One complaint to CE providing your storefront contact information and sign location will get you a NOV for off-site signs. Off-site signs require a sign permit, however, the city does not issue permits for street corners and utility poles. This sign/litter (street spam) is considered illegal and treated like litter. Repeated violators get citations addressed by a Judge if needed. There is no arraignment; It is handled like a traffic ticket, more or less. A spammer can take it to trial if they wish.

I pick up litter. I do not enforce the law, nor stop you, inform you, or deter you from posting your signs. I don’t even want to communicate with a spammer. I am Not taking the law into my own hands. All I do is pick up litter, with CE, the police, and the judicial system all considering it legal.

A definition and word I have picked to show my point is below. Feel free to look the word up in 20 dictionaries, to show me differently.

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=88299&dict=CALD

vigilante
noun
a person who tries in an unofficial way to prevent crime, or to catch and punish someone who has committed a crime, especially because they do not think that official organizations, such as the police, are controlling crime effectively. Vigilantes usually join together to form groups.

I want to be a law-abiding citizen, and saying I am vigilante is most concerning to me. If I were a vigilante, I think the police would arrest me or give a warning. However, the police (CE) is my voice when I complain. I don’t have to waste my time talking to you. I pay taxes to the city for the service of code enforcement. You have said you would file harassment charges if needed. There will be no need for this, just talk to the Officer. After I remove your sign, I respond to your advertisement to get “more” information, and then file a complaint with the proper authorities. Does my complaint make me a vigilante?

I’m running out of time, so I need to go. If you choose to respond, I promise to get back to you.

Which laws, exactly, are the ones we bite?

After putting them up ILLEGALY, of course.

>On top of that I have spoken directly to Code Enforcement and

>Because it is vandalism.

Yeah, right. You also got a bridge for sale, do you?

>So not only is your "cause" the most meager and

Oh, no! Tripled "effots!"

>To CAUSS.org: Get your little puppies under control and send

If you'd only tell us WHICH laws to bite, maybe we could.

First, spammers NEVER take down their own signs.

Second, it's "law abiding".

Is that why lawyers are like sharks, that they are
"law biting"?
