Here is what I am dealing with in Hampton/Newport News.
The only type of signs I don't take down are "Open House," little league, soccer league and other such kids sports announcements. But they come down if they are up too long. I also remove FSBO, For Sale and For Rent.
My feeling is that if you let one, more will come because people will think it is ok to post signs of all kind.
I found a site where this person had left a sign in the past and someone had destroyed the sign and left in there and they had posted a new one. I took one of his stakes and left a note.
I told him his sign was illegal and also told him to "keep his god to himself."

Saw some Jesus ones years ago, all the way to California from Vegas. I then thought this is no ordinary spammer, but an over zealuous missionary, probably thinking he's doing his part to make the world a better place... so I had to destroy it. Sorry God, but I beat you to it.
Isn't that whats he was going do anyways, destroy it, to get rid of spammers, sinners etc...?
