CAUSS FAQ:
Q:What About Real Estate and Home Builder Signs?
A: CAUSS does not support the removal of For Sale, Open House and Homebuilder signs. The signs may be allowed due to variances in local ordinances. Should these signs be allowed, they are likely to have certain limits imposed on their placement. These rules are complex and often involve complex politics. You should report these signs to your local code enforcement office if you have any questions on their legality.

Who gives a poop? They are illegal here and when posted in the rights-of-way are removed as litter.
.
Oh, there's a hint of cool in the air, and Winter is coming! I've got to gather more firewood... And Sign stakes make great fire starters!

I pity the fools that post real estate signs in my hood.
The fun ones are those metal swinging ones that real estate agents seem to always put *in the street* on every corner on weekends for their open houses. I just drive right over those ones. CLANG!

metal swingees are legal
I usually have too many illegals on poles to remove before I ever see, let alone touch one of those swingees. I go after regular spam repeating on poles again and again.
But I did remove a craft and craps signs in the middle of the intersection, it was about 2'x 2' on kraft paper. Just popped up sometime this afternoon, Ugly, unprofessional, in the ROW, Destroyed.
It was on that pole in the middle of the street. I cut it down before I made a left, first pic. I didnt have time to document it, but I got these three spam signs. Soon comming to a town near you.
Removed shortly after they appeared sometime last night.

>metal swingees are legal
Not if it is blocking the road or sidewalk. Many times, they put their metal open house signs in the wheel chair ramp on the corners, too. Not too fun for my wheel chair bound friends.

>metal swingees are legal
Pops, The only place metal swingees are legal in Nevada are on private property. If its in the ROW, its illegal, not to mention its against Realtors so called "code of ethics" which most of them seem not to follow.

I thought the open house fell into the category of yard sale.
I saw the local news doing a report about them once. They reported on the placement of the yard sale signs and the frequency of them. The report mentioned the signs are illegal if you put it on the utility poles or traffic signs. Like most of the signage we try to eliminate here, but you could put it on the sidewalk, on a box.

Your'e right they are litter. I end up pulling up to intersections later long after sale and throwing the litter in the trunk of my car.
Only once I had ran across a spammer using this methods to advertise. I went after them on a regular basis. I knew he was trying to skirt around the code by claiming you are allowed to advertise this way, like the the yard sale folks. But of course he was using them all over the area, and on a weekly basis for about two months.
They stopped appearing when I started to remove them the day they went up.
