Hi all! I'm new to this, but am having lots of fun cleaning up intersections near my home. I live in the Williamsburg Settlement area, near Franz Road in Katy. I cleaned up the Franz/Westgreen intersection last weekend and got 26 signs! Several people gave me the "thumbs up" while I was doing it. It looks like the bad guys hit our area last night with lots of Dish Network and Drama Kids signs, apparently put out by the same person. I got a few of them today, but have to be careful when I have my daughter in the car to only stop when the coast is very clear. My husband and I are going to get the rest tonight, hopefully, so they won't be out over the weekend.
A question: If you concentrate on a particular intersection, do these guys EVER learn? The signs I got today had huge wooden stakes, and were obviously expensive signs to make. You'd think they would get the message!
One other thing - the end of Grand Parkway looks great now! I had always assumed that was private property and that the owner was being paid by the people who posted the signs. Good work on getting them removed!!!

Welcome!
Some spammer do learn. The Road Corridor where I live is known to the spammers now as a "No sign zone"... Only the newbies persist, until they figure out it costs them and no sign stays up more than 8 hours. It's funny, one of them went all up the road a few weeks ago and placed signs every two hundred yards or so. I got them all. They then did it again. I got them too. Today, they went and placed them 11' high on the telephone poles. I used my trusty sharky-rake and got every one of them as well. **Grins**
.
Oh, there's a hint of cool in the air, and Winter is coming! I've got to gather more firewood... And Sign stakes make great fire starters!

Welcome to the CAUSS. I think I agree with Tomato that spammers generally don't learn. The amateurs may give up after losing lots of signs. The pros just see sign loss as a cost of doing business. The pros do learn which cities have a zero tolerance and they avoid them since they will or might get caught, perhaps by a cop as they put them out in the middle of the night.

My advice is to be careful... I never take my kids with me, because I don't want to get in any kind of confrontation with somebody while my kids are around. But, if you keep sharking the same areas over and over, eventually, they will get the message and move on.
