"Northbound I35E access road at SH121, Lewisville"

This area has a lot of construction going on, and pedestrian access is nil. There are a couple of small areas that one can pull-off to the side and park out of the way of traffic, and obviously a few spammers have done so.

When I went through there on Saturday, there were at least a dozen staked coroplast signs in the ground, pitching some "Clean Your Credit" operation. I don't recall the exact wording, but I did jot down the phone number: 972-498-8765. No luck in the usual reverse-lookup directories. It said something like "attorney based operation" (whatever that means) and had the Better Business Bureau logo on it (I'm sure the BBB hates that).

I didn't have an opportunity to deal with it on Saturday. Unless someone has made a sweep since then, they're likely still there.

Try reporting it to the BBB, and maybe they will
prosecute if it isn't authorized. If it is authorized,
make a complaint against to company.

From my experience, the BBB is unlikely to take any meaningful action, especially in this situation where you aren't a customer of the merchant. The basic goal of the BBB is to maximize their membership and membership fees.

There were a dozen or so on the eastbound 121 part of that intersection also. The traffic was too heavy for me to get them. There weren't any on westbound 121.

That entire intersection is a health harard as it is, with or without signs. With all the construction that's going on with the extention and the overhead bridges, you take your life in your hands to attempt a stop anywhere in that whole area.

I passed through that area today (Sat PM) and the traffic was bumper to bumper, moving 70 MPH in the southbound lanes and bumper to bumper almost stopped in the northbound lanes. All four exits were jambed up for two miles in each direction.

IMHO, think that area should be left to Lewisville.

I went to that intersection this afternoon, and hauled off about 25 signs. Feels great to take back our public property from these sheisters.

Drove around the rest of Lewisville and filled my car's trunk with them.

Yes, it does. You'll feel even better when you think of the 3 bucks or so it costs them for each sign, plus more if they hire someone to put them out.

Hey Ed:

Good going - glad to have someone in the immediate Lewisville area to pick up the slack. Lewisville has been on the low end of the totem pole for some time. It seems they get more than their fair share with 121 Business, 121 Bypass and I-35 being that as it is.

If you really want to get an added enjoyment, call Bobby Shooter in Lewisville CE and request that he or one of his guys come pickup the signs.

Hmm... What would he do? Will they call the folks and rattle their cages?

BTW, I went on some errands today and noticed that one of those spammers posted more of the "Top soil" signs way up high on telephone poles, and even on the back of a traffic sign, right around 121 business and I-35.

I may go out again, but this time with an orange vest and a big-ass pole to knock them down.

Make up a sharky stick and you won't have to worry about carrying a Big A'd pole around.
You can customize it to fit any kind of vehicle.
Guaranteed to fill the bill. We haven't found anything better.

See the stick and other various tools at the following link.
It even comes with detailed instructions.

Will do...

I went to Wal-mart and got the materials tonight:
- Long pole
- Hook
- Orange reflective vest

We picked up 11 signs tonight, all of which had been placed overnight.

There wasn't a single sign placed at the intersection that was the original subject of this thread! (Either that or someone else nabbed them)

Hopefully they've either gotten the point or figured out that it's not worth the danger to stop in the contruction area.
