Well, Eugene, Albany, Corvallis, Salem, and Portland are surprisingly clear still. I picked up about 40 signs which is 10% of what I'd expect for the miles I covered.
Only one Herbalife distributor putting them up now. No website; just a phone number.
Of course the Buy-Your-House scam is out in force. They always are. These guys are particularly unmoved by sliced or defaced signs. They'll post new ones directly on top of the defaced corpses of their own previous spam. It's probably time to escalate the attack with more creative ideas.
Also took down some seriously old sliced sign halves. There are now entire neighborhoods without a single sign.
Perhaps the tide is turning. I can dream, can't I?

Hey, Uglylitter:
That's good news (mostly)!
We've had rashes of We Buy Houses here in Denver. I have found that quick removal/sharking helps in most cases. There are some repeat offenders, so regular "patrols" are necessary.
We also have another scam here with (mostly handwritten) signs that say something like
ZERO DOWN Owner Finance 3 BR 3 BA Home etc, etc
They are written to look like FSBO (for sale by owner) signs, but they are just a lead-in to an insurance scam or whatever. Have you seen any of these in your area?

I haven't seen that particular phrasing, but I'm not so confident that different phrasing means a different scam. We have two types of real estate scam signs here.
One is handwritten on flaming yellow coroplast. They read either "We Buy Houses" or "I Buy Houses" or they advertise a specific property by street address. Both kinds have the same handwriting. When I call the numbers, I either get an answering machine or an aggressive, angry man who I guess gets more complaints than sales.
The other kind is preprinted like the ones found at banditsigns.com. They read (in green letters) "We Buy Houses."
So far it looks like the real estate signs are actually advertising real estate, not that it's any more legal or attractive. And they come down or get stickered just as fast.

Would I be correct in assuming that these signs are the bastard children of those who don't have anything better to do than watch informercials at 3 a.m.? i.e. Carlton Sheets and such?
