I came across this article in a local weekly paper. It's nice to know that somebody else in my neighborhood shares my for a clean community.
Queens Tribune Vol. 34 No. 36 Sept. 3-9, 2004 Illegal Posters Ripped In Dem Race Azi Paybarah
Posters from Luis Rosero's senatorial cam- paign in Jackson Heights were ripped down and stacked in front of his office this week. Rosero referred to the incident as "irreprehensible (sic) actions" and "downright cowardly" in a letter to his opponent, Sena- tor John Sabini. Rosero accused Sabini's campaign of hiring people to rip down the posters.
Sabini denied the claim, saying he wants Rosero's posters to remain intact because they are illegal and could lead to thousands of dollars in fines.
The City's Department of Sanitation (DOS) has yet to officially send a warning to politi- cal campaigns about illegal posters. Ac- cording to DOS spokesman Kathy Dawkins, a letter will be mailed by mid-September.

Two weeks to write and mail a letter? How efficient! Your tax dollars at work as usual.

The primary occurs on Sept. 14. IOW, they're going to wait until after the election to send the letter.

Hate to say it but Atlanta has plenty of 'loser spam' still scattered about...much of it on private property! (Our last runoff date was August 10, BTW)

I sent a letter to the newspapers, expressing my hope that the winner makes good on his promise to fine the spammer for littering.
