My response: "Yes. He's face down in the trash cans."
While driving across Queens Boulevard, I came upon the aforementioned signs lining the streets of my girlfriend's neighborhood. I performed my own little magic act, and made the litter disappear!
The fates rewarded my good deed when we visited the greyhound racetrack (http://www.shorelinestar.com) that afternoon.

Is this spam for the movie or the book? Do you have any idea who's behind it? If it's the movie or publishing company, we can put some pressure on them to cut it out.
By the way, if you know anybody in Brooklyn, could you urge them to do some sharking down there? The Greenpoint Ave / McGinness Ave area is a mess. I didn't have time to rip very many signs last time I was down there on business.

It was for the movie, alongside other posters (G Unit, Bad Boyz, etc. - strange company for a wizard to keep). I visited the website (http://www.harrypotter.com) and left a message on the forum, asking them to stop littering.

That would be a good thing.

It could also be that Warner Bros. has outsourced this kind of advertising to a "street team" group. I found the following on Craig's List:
Make Haste! Records, an independent startup label founded by singer-songwriter Allison Tartalia, is looking for street teamers to help us build audience and promote performances in cities along the East Coast. Seeking help in New York; Boston; Philadelphia; Washington DC; Atlanta; Baltimore; Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill; and online.
Street teamers do not receive pay, but will get CDs, T-shirts and other fun items, as well as free admission into shows. Great opportunity to learn about the music industry, be part of promoting indie music and meet other cool music-lovers in your home town. To join a street team, please reply and put “Street Team.” in the subject. Please include your city and state.

http://www.i-squad.com appears to be the "street team" that does the spamming, based on the bands they support (Lumidee, Bad Boy, Carl Thomas, 8Ball & MJG).
