"LIE Service Road"

Hi,

I was on my way to a friend's housewarming party this past
Saturday. The Long Island Expressway was backed up (what
else is new?), so I stayed on the service road. There, I
came upon new cases of street spam, zip-tied to the fence.
My girlfriend made careful note of the cross streets, so I
was able to return the following day and remove the litter.

I have to return to my friend's house soon. Rte. 107 in
Bethpage is similarly littered.

Froggie (1033 signs... and counting )

Good work! Are there other sharks in your area?

I'm not sure. Occasionally, I find a sign that has been "sharked"
(which I then fully remove). For the most part, though, I'm a
one-man cleanup crew.

Hi, Froggie:

Do they sticker signs? Is that how you found about CAUSS? (Some sharks put stickers on signs that say things like "help remove illegal signs".

No stickers - just a bite taken out of sign (i.e., the phone
number). I first heard about this group on one of the
Usenet newsgroups. At first, I just stayed in my own
backyard, cleaning up the neighborhood whenever the spammers
came to town. I didn't realize how widespread the problem
was until I drove my brother to the airport one day. On the
way back home, I couldn't help but notice how many signs
there were (three to a pole, as far as the eye could see)
along the boulevard. It was then that I resolved to take
down the signs wherever I came across them.

Are you still collecting 800 numbers? I sharked a few the
other day:

"I lost 40 pounds in two weeks!
(800) 948-1363"

Hi, Froggie:

Could you enable "personal messages" in your profile? I'd like to send you one.

I just updated my profile. Private messages should be enabled.
