Swimming around today, Decatur is ripe for feeding! Counted 30 diff spam at 11 diff. intersections from Russell to Flamingo Total take would be 55 give or take a sign.
I hit the roads today as well. Eastern is quite a bit cleaner this evening.
Looks like we have a few new sharks out there learning to swim. I ran across 30 to 40 chopped signs. They left about a two inch strip where the sign was nailed to the polls. I sure wish they would remove the whole sign or just a portion of the number. Removing these thin strips that they leave behind sure is difficult.
Get this. I actually had a cop (K-9) give me an escort for about a half mile. He followed behind me with his rear lights flashing to warn on coming traffic to go around. Man this was nice. I was able to grab allot of signs in a very short amount of time. Before the cop left, he said "keep up the good work".
I hate to block traffic in any way and if a car is close behind me when I need to pull over to grab a sign, allot of times I'll pass the sign and come back around when I can stop without blocking any cars.
I’m thinking of talking with the police to see if I can get an escort from time to time. It sure makes picking up these illegal signs a whole lot easier. Especially when there is any amount of traffic, and I’m sure you know in Vegas, there’s always traffic. Besides, it’s a whole lot safer if a spammer decides to confront you, which I’ve had happen twice in the last eight years.

The cops, how do you get their help?I call them sometimes when Im following a spammer!HAHAHAHA. One time on Eastern my animal instinct took over when this Lexus comes flying through the intersection and does a u-turn while hes looking over his shoulder at me in the crosswalk with a sign in hand.I come back through the crosswalk passing in front of his car with another sign from across the street. Hes on the cell.I jump in my car where I see him do another u-turn to follow me. Now I know Im being hunted not just by one but possibly by two. Thats when I pulled in to a well lit area and waited . Sure enough he follows me in but Im out of my car with Metro on the phone and step in front of his car and ask him why hes following me. Hes says he not and drove off.Then another Lexus comes pulling in and I start following him HAHAHAHAHA... That guy keeps driving in circles till he acts like hes found a parking spot.Then thats when I get out of my car and tell him to stop following me. I continue down the road when another Lexus was doing the same thing I tried to follow him but I lost him Years later I caught up to him after he finished spamming Eastern where I followed him home. The next weekend when he finished spamming Metro was there to bust him.HAHAHAHAHAA. After that the spam slowed down then eventually ended. Thats just one spammer, theres got to be a better way? Then metro had more time on their hands I dont know now with cops getting shot and the town more violent. Always wanted to tell that story to sharkies but didnt know where.Back then I guess I was a shark without a Causs.
Getting a cop to provide flashing escort is GREAT!! It is much, much safer to have that protection from traffic. It is also good image for the public to see police supporting the removal of illegal signs. The only thing better would be for aprehended spammers to have removal of xx miles of spam as part of their sentence. Maybe they can be outfitted with with a black "S" on their shirt to identify them as spammers. I don't think anyone will mistake them for Superman.
I wonder if any courts would consider sign removal as a form of required community service? There would be some liability issues but maybe they could be pressed into service as extra hands to work with the trash pickup and road maintenance crews.
