I hit the streets on Friday and snagged 1 banner and 63 signs in just under 2 hours. Could have gotten more but I was too worn out.
Seems to be a lot of spam popping up lately in Henderson and Las Vegas. I see many areas where sharks are slashing and leaving the carcass behind, this sure looks bad for our city. If I’m not stickering a sign to promote CAUSS awareness, I like to remove the complete sign and I respectfully ask all other Sharks to do the same. Lets take back out streets.

That's when to shark them. If you just sharked for 2 hours, how more signs could you have covered?
<<I see many areas where sharks are slashing and leaving the carcass behind,>>
Maybe they were worn out too, but those companies are not getting any phone calls, hence, they may not put up more signs.
With a big citywide and valley wide problem like this, exposing the problem should be the goal, not covering it up. Removing the signs is helping the spammers, at this point.
I keep my little area clean, and the stickers do the rest.
Mass communications to Code Enforcement works wonders. (See the attached sticker)

I just talked to Las Vegas code enforcement. 702-229-6615 They only respond to complaints and don’t pro actively pick up signs. A complaint must be submitted.
North Las Vegas Code Enforcement is a different organization. 702-633-1677 They said they are not pro active either. They only respond to complaints.
Attached is the sticker for Las Vegas. The other post of mine has the sticker with the phone number for North Las Vegas.

SpamShark, thanks for the stickers, however, I already have similar stickers made up in two different sizes.
Unfortunately, all local code enforcement agencies in my area (Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas & City of Henderson) are reactive instead of proactive. I have made attempts to work with the City of Henderson to create and lead a volunteer program to remove spam and talk with local businesses to create awareness on the sign laws. I was told ”I have met with the City’s Risk Manager and Assistant City Attorney regarding our meeting to begin a ‘volunteer corps’ to help Code Enforcement with the cleanup of illegal signs. Although we appreciate the efforts of citizens such as yourself whose goal is to make Henderson a better place to live, this program is not feasible at this time”.
I guess the city would rather not deal with the legal aspects of a volunteer program.
I’ll keep removing signs and making a positive impact on the community.

Saw some slashed signs along Sahara at Decatur, Warm Springs around Spencer, and Rainbow at Russell. I thought it was you Clean Sweep. I was wrong. I reported signs along Russell, Warm Springs, and Tropicana Monday.
It looks like the streets are being kept clean. They look better. Between Jones and Decatur on Tropicana, saw new spam, and lots of slashed signs, not totally clean.

Sorry, wasn't me.
I reported Jones, north of I-215 to Clark County yesterday. I also had a good discussion this week with Clark County to see about implementing a volunteer program to remove illegal signs and cleanup the remnants left behind from other sharks. Slow process but encouraging.
Your photo of the utility pole with multiple signs slashed is representative of hundreds upon hundreds of other utility polls throughout the valley. Henderson (incorporated) is not so bad.

I cruised the same streets today that I cruised Monday Labor Day, and reported sign violation to Code. I'm impressed with the clean-up by Code. They cleaned WarmSprings from the 215 W.B. to Valleyview , and the intersection of Arville/Tropicana N.B. too.
As far as Sharked signs go, I seen alot at Jones and Tropicana. Could be a Shark in the area or sloppy code work.
Heres before and after pics of the N.B. lanes on Arville at Tropicana. Code removed sometime this week.
The third shot is Decatur and Tropicana N.B. a couple blocks west of the Arville in the first photo. This is a a favorite spam corner too, and almost the same spam as in the first photo. Spam was there this morning but I didn't report this intersection last week.
The spammers place of business for the Mattress spam in the first photo is located just down the street at Reno and Arville. The carpet spam is probaly this spammers business too. Although I don't see this kind of carpet spam much anymore, Code knows where he lives.
The Credit Repair spam is mostly appearing along Tropicana E.B. towards Arville from Jones. I reported this spam to Code last week too, but didnt have time to go around the block and check for its removal.
It should't be long when these intersection won't get spammed anymore. Or Code will keep getting weekly reports.

I haven’t had much luck with Las Vegas or Clark County CE. I reported Jones from I-215 to Russell last week. I’ll let you know if they respond and if so, how long it took.

I cruised the streets I reported the violations last week. Signs all disappeared that I reported except for Tropicana between Jones and Decatur.
A spammer hit the Arville/Tropicana utilty pole again for carpet cleaning aftert code removed on Thursday. He hit it sometime Sunday afternoon, but the signs is a spray paint and includes a new number for carpet cleaning. I removed it yesterday, but saw more of the same today on Spring Mt. just west of the freeway up to Jones.
The carpet cleaning spam removed by code was the 1274 number(last four). This spammers business address just happens to be on Spring Mountain just west of the freeway. This new spam starts there and continues up Spring mountain to Jones. Conclusion is its the same spammer but new number.
I remember seeing spammers regularly use this route in the past. This spammer used this area regularly. It looks like he never learned.
I took some shots of the poles along Spring Mountain. Sharks, and spammers have been doing battle here for awhile. Take a look.
