"Evansville"

In Evansville for a few days. There is a moderate amount of street spam. It seems to be entirely local and predominantly non-commercial -- civic groups of one sort or another with book sales, pancake breakfasts, etc. I have seen zero We Buy Houses, Herbalife, or insurance signs. I guess there is one type of frequent commercial sign -- realtors put up "For Sale" signs with an arrow at the ends of the block where they have a house listed. This is fairly prevalent.

I think there may be some shark(s) active in Evansville. I noticed that quite a few signs disappeared before I had a chance to get them myself. It could be that those who put them up came around and took the down after the event. I say this because not all signs disappeared in a particular area.

There seems to be less spam in Evansville than 6 months ago. There seem to far fewer of the end-of-the-block realtor signs with "house for sale" and directional arrow. I suspect there is a regular active shark in the area.

Well, not much has changed from the post 6 months ago regarding the situation in Evansville. With 22 inches of snow and temperatures down to -11 degrees it has been pretty hard to get out and do any sign control. However, I did get here before the snow and the primary spam is small (usually) realtor signs at the ends of blocks where they have houses for sale. None of the traditional spam like medical/dental insurance, avoid foreclosure, we buy houses, lose weight now, etc. Some occassional local business spam but not more than in the past. The cold weather has probably kept the garage sale and pancake supper signs to a minimum.

Things looked pretty good in Evansville. Very few signs of commercial or non-profit (e.g., pancake breakfast at fire house) spam. Cleaner than on any trip in recent memory. The one continuing source of spam is the relatively small "House For Sale" with arrow signs that realtors put at the ends of blocks where they have houses listed. This seems to be a practice of most realtors.
