Civic Development Group (which already has a seedy, and sordid reputation on top of the littering) has been plastering illegal coroplast signs all over town, as well as placing illegal paper signs on utility poles. It appears based on the press release above as well as some ads that careerbuilder.com picked up from the Idaho Statesman that the Idaho FOP are the beneficiaries!
It is sort of ironic that a police union is paying people to break the law, isn't it?
A search for 888-974-jobs.com or 888-974-jobs will yield more information about the unsavory Civic Development Group who have been placing the illegal signs while on contract for the police union!
I wonder if Brad Landes, the Idaho State Lodge fundraising chairman, knows or cares that his union's "carefully reviewed" "professional fundraising company" is on a littering spree in his state.

One of the Fraternal Order of Police groups in the Salt Lake City area has been doing the same thing for at least two years. I don't have a sign handy, but I believe the 888 number is the same. They are advertising jobs at a call center that raises funds for FOP.
The signs advertise FT/PT jobs for so much an hour ($12 if I recall correctly). I previously complained to a Salt Lake County Sheriff's detective who is an FOP official, and I received a dismissive response to the effect of, "The sign code is only a zoning law, not a criminal law." He also claimed the signs weren't being placed in public right-of-ways, but that was an outright lie.

If the FOP are beneficiaries, it might get the interest of local newspaper or TV news. Shedding a little more light on the law breaking might get them to stop.

From the web page link--------is a fraternal organization working on behalf of police officers around the state. --
These guys are professional fundraisers. (In 23 states) In Texas, by law, they must give 5% of profit to the police organization. This is after all bills are paid, and telemarketers are paid.
They usually throw the police a party with the 5% leftover, after the owners of the fund raising company take a big yearly bonus.
Their sales pitch revolves around the children of the dead officers killed in the line of duty. The sales pitch stresses helping the children and widows.
-------currently developing programs for the United Way and Easter Seals.--- They are not even affilliated with these two organizations, yet feed off their name.
