I went to the town hall in Old Saybrook today to talk to the various offices about what they might be able to do to the sign spammers. The town is still working on an ordinance about the signs, but told me to go ahead and keep ripping them down, and the cops wouldn't bother me (what a great little town).
The lady in the zoning office told me that someone else had been in there recently, claiming to have sharked about 300 signs. I left the URL of this site for her to pass along to this individual if he comes back in to the town hall.
If you get it, and read this post, I have two things to say to you:
1) Bravo! I knew there was someone else out there, but didn't know you had been that active. Your total is higher than mine, and I salute you.
2) Let's get together and coordinate our activities. I have been doing sweeps from Clinton to Niantic and up the river as far as Haddam (with occasional forays into Guilford and Madison). If it's possible for us to divvy up the area, I can actually get a little bit farther afield if I know there's someone covering the "home base" around here.
We could also share techniques, etc. In case you haven't noticed, "www.uwilltoo.com" (who is a loser named Brett Mance from New London) has been testing us by putting his signs up higher and higher on the poles (one in Old Lyme and one in Old Saybrook today). No matter, I got them anyway.

We had the same problem in the Dallas-Ft Worth Metro area, some eighteen months ago with the spammers getting higher and higher, some went up to sixteen feet of so. We developed a "high stick" that solved that problem. If you're interested let us know and we'll forward the info.

Wow, I am amazed that with all that's going on in the world you folks would waste so much time taking down signs which, in many cases, provide jobs and bring in tax dollars to their state. I see so many of you folks calling these "sign hangers" losers but I would have to question who is the no-life loser, the person hanging the sign trying to make a living(and many I am sure do advertise in more tradtional ways as well, not just signs)or the one scaling poles to take them down! Get a life folks! There are so many other more productive ways to use your time you freaks! Join a club, help the poor, work with the elderly or something.

I have a feeling this Redstone is a big fat crybaby tree hugger with nothing to do with himself but amuse his cult here with taking signs down, eh? Chrsit, that's depressing if that's all his life is about...
