I found this site from a link on spamcop.net, while I was doing some research on e-mail spammers (another group of "thought-process-challenged" wannabe marketers). I've always wanted to rip down those annoying signs cluttering up the street corners near my home and business, but wasn't sure whether or not doing so was legal. It's gratifying to know that I can do my bit to remove the eyesores from my little corner of the world.
Yes, it's absolutely legal to rip the signs, down; if you need a reference to the applicable law, it's Section 23-65 of the General Statutes.
We've seen the quantity of signs go way down since the Herbalife ban in April, but the "Affordable Health Insurance" guys still crop up now and then, as do the locals.
Some areas have seen a plague of Ames "going out of business" signs as well, but in my town, they have hired people to stand on the corners holding the signs - I guess they heard that illegal signs don't last too long around here.
A note to all the other Connecticut sharks: Sorry I haven't been doing my bit on the forum for a while, but I've had some health problems. Getting better, though, and should be back to the old self relatively soon. Thanks for your activity as always.
