Just got off the phone with a reporter from the Hartford Courant (the only statewide newspaper in Connecticut). She's coming to my office on Monday to interview me for a story about the sign problem.
I'll make sure the CAUSS name and URL get put in the article.
This could be fun: She wants some of the spammer names and phone numbers so she can call them for "reaction." That should be REAL interesting, since I've already told all of them that the signs are illegal - they can't plead ignorance of the law.
Jason, Mac, Ethan, others: She might want to talk with you as well. If you want to do that, send me an email address or phone number using the "private email" feature of this site.
Lucy, I'll ask if she has any contacts for newspapers in Worcester or other eastern Massachusetts cities for you to get in touch with for coverage as well.

Congratulations.
DenverShark, JeffCoShark and I have been interviewed today by a local paper "WestWord" and also were in the WB2 News footage. PM me if you want the URL, to look at a draft copy of the clip. Someone is working on a nicer quality copy of the news clip to post to the website.
You can also PM DenverShark for advice, he's led the interviews. I was mainly there for my manly good looks.

Congratulations, Redstone!
I do have contacts at the Woonsocket Call and the Attleboro Sun Chronicle here in Mass. Maybe I'll ask them if they'd like to do a story on the sign problem.

I'll send you a link to the Courant article (when it's published), as well as any other observations on the interview process that might be of interest to you. And whatever else you want.
This is a reporter I (kind of ) know through my Connecticut River Valley preservation activities, so I'm sure the problem will get fair treatement.
Will also try to answer your CE contact questions from the RI forum tomorrow; right now I have to surrender to the Demerol ...OK, you little white bastards, you win for tonight, but I'll get you in the morning; you'll sit in the jar and I'll ignore you until late in the day...

I'm pleased to learn that the Courant is shining its light on the problem. I used to live in Hartford, where I was a regular Courant reader, but that was a while ago. I think I used to buy the Courant for a nickel (might have been a dime, but a nickel sounds right) at the newspaper box out on front of my house on Blue Hills Avenue. I'll bet the price has gone up a little since then.

Well, the Courant now costs half a buck (ouch! sorry for the tacky pun), but they do a pretty good job of covering local issues here in the lower CT River valley - maybe it's because even though we don't have too many people around here, a LOT of them are rich (though not me, dammit).
And it's not a bad paper overall. Of course, anything would be better than that dreadful New Haven Register. Remember that one? It's even worse now, if you can believe such a thing is possible.

Don't I know it. I'm ashamed to admit that we subscribe to that rag, I think out of habit. I'll be looking forward to the Courant article. One of my brothers subscribes so I'll ask him to keep an eye out for it. As for talking to them, I'm a real closet shark. Nobody would suspect that I do this and most of my acquaintances would be surprised to find out. I think I'll keep it to myself for now.

But, of course, we respect all sharks' wishes, and won't make any information public. Though I wish you'd let me buy you a beer someday.
I'll post a copy of the Courant article here so you can read it.
Good to hear from you again, and by all means shark in private if that's what you feel comfortable with. As you know, I'm grateful for anyone who does anything instead of doing nothing.
You're helping with the sign problem, and that's all that really counts. Hamden was nice and clean when we went up there yesterday.
