"Fun Stickers for Spammers"

Folks, I have gotten an idea from this site that I want to put into action. I'd like to buy a batch of stickers that say something like "FREE MANSON!!!,"FREE NUDE MASSAGE," "I DID YOUR MOTHER," etc.

I'd then slap them on street spam with their phone number intact.

Hilarity would ensue!!!

We have to deal with these spammers day in and day out, grimly going about our business of snipping signs, cutting numbers, affixing CAUSS stickers, etc. Why not have some good, clean old-fashioned fun?

The problem is that bumper stickers are very expensive. Does anyone know of an online company that will do either custom stickers at a reasonable price? I'm not sure even what to call them.

Stay tuned, though, I'm on it!

Hi:

Well, I'm all for having fun. You can never have enough fun! I got a chuckle out of the auto detailing sign I saw with a sticker on it that said something like "Stained my Dash".

Sometimes you have to resort to stickering to get rid of illegal signs. After all, these detailing signs have been plastered all over I25 CDOT exits from Colorado to Lincoln, at University & 470, Broadway & 470, and up to Colorado and Speer. After 5 years, you think that CDOT would deal with the problem.

Only a few people there truly care about cleaning up the mess - and I thank them.

If stickers reduce the volume of spam, then great! If they draw in more sharks, great! If they generate media interest, great!

I'd be careful about putting up stickers in questionable taste, though.

By the way I think there's an old thread on "How to Make Causs Stickers". Search for it and/or search for "Scotch 77" spray adhesive.

Send me a personal message if you don't find the thread.

Cheers,

DenverShark

You definitely could have some fun with this. However, your sticker would need to be large enough to cover the spammer’s message while having your message visible.

I also think you would need to offer something that someone would actually want such as "FREE BIKE", "FREE FIREWOOD" etc. Although, I guess I would feel bad about building up someone’s hopes for a free bike or firewood just to have them torn down when they call the spammer.

Tough call.

Tom

Making a positive difference!

Well, in my location, it is illegal to do that. The prohibition on putting up a sign does not exclude signs placed on other signs, even if the first sign is illegal. I suspect that the law in many places is the same.

If your intention is to get rid of trash, then you have a duty to completely remove the illegal sign if you touch it.

However, I really have a desire to change one letter on the signs we have around here that say "Get Paid Daily".

I been giving stickers a lot of thought, but no action yet.

The reason is the stickers got to be professional. As much as I'd like to make the spammers life more uncomfortable, I got the Code and Code Enforcement on my side.

Something simple glued over the phone number gets the spamkies attention.

A sticker with the word illegal, and the name Code Enforcement or Causs.Org. will maybe change the behavior of the ignorant persistant spammkie.
