"ILLEGAL TATTOO AND WEDDING EXPO PLACARDS UP"

If you are in Southern California, please consider helping remove the large Tattoo Expo and Wedding Show signs/placards that have begun to clutter the area once again. A good number are already in Dumpsters

There are several bridal shows that always occur the first weekend in January (usually held in Orange County, Pomona and San Diego venues), and sign show spam has been put up (and removed!) for years. I have spoken to the show sponsor and he says he'll stop putting up illegal signs when others stop. He doesn't deny they are illegal and unsightly. True criminal logic.

The large Tattoo Expo signs have also gone up for years (and are likewise removed by blight-haters each December and July ahead of the shows). These signs are very aggressively placed on freeway entrances, in shopping centers, on telephone poles annd light standards, etc. I have also spoken to the show management and they won't "negotiate" about their signs unless I tell them my name. What knowing my name has to do with illegal sign placement is a mystery to me. These tattoo show signs are placed well beyond the cities where the events are held.

You are really doing damage to these street spammers since the signs cost at least $6.50 each. In the past, I've taken down over 500 tattoo show signs promoting a single show.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi Dogglovrr,
Since you have contact numbers for these spammers, why not flood them with junk phone calls? Keep a list of the phone numbers from all the spam you remove, call them, and direct them to call you back at the tattoo and wedding managers' office. Soon they will be sick and tired of hearing the phone ring, and the wasted time.
I found this is an effective way to discourage spammers.

Agree. It actually worked well (after prolonged efforts) with a particular "Real Estate Investor Seeks Apprentice" moron. She was really flooding the area with her coroplast signs.

The combination of removing them hours after they went up when possible and the phone calls got her to pull way back after over a year.

PS: There are over 300 less Tattoo Expo and Wedding Expo signs blighting Orange County and Long Beach (removal period: Dec. 26 through yesterday). The value the destroyed spam is about $2,000, according to pricing on the sign company's website. The wedding show is today, so we probably won't see more of those spam signs until next time. The tattoo expo is next Friday through Sunday, so sign replacement infestation is likely.
