Some spammer stole large political coroplast signs, cut them up, and used the unpainted white back to paint their own spam. (Political signs are legal here, as long as they are 15 feet from the roadway.)
There were multiple signs with parts of the same Arizona flag on the back on the US-60 off-ramps. These were for different phone numbers, but the same style of signs. They put three or four on each off-ramp, one after the other.
It looks like a "sign bandit" is contracting with multiple people to put up these illegal signs.
Too bad that they didn't get their money's worth because the contact infomation is now missing!

This sounds like a perfect opportunity to turn the politician against the spammer. "Not only did he steal your signs, he's using them to ugly up *your* constituency!"

That's a great idea! However, the signs came from someone who lost the primary.

I remember back in the old days when Herbalife was spam king. One of the prolific Herbalife spammers would use a black marker to put a big X on the back of his signs. I always assumed this was to prevent another spammer from stealing and reusing the blank side. However, the X may have been the mark the spammer used to know which side went against the pole.
