Traffic poles and boxes in many metro Denver Suburbs have stickers on them saying it is illegal to place any signs on or over them. The stickers work pretty well. Perhaps you could suggest to city councils where you are that they could achieve similar success with stickers.

DenverShark,
Do you, or anyone else, have photos or examples of the wording used?
I've seen one photo of these and I don't remember where it was.
On a similar note... I think it would be neat for the Sharks who use stickers to get stickers that say in bright red, "ILLEGAL SIGN, see causs.org" That would get the point across to everyone when placed diagonally across the front of a hard to remove sign!

These are great! Easy to recycle!
My four-year-old loves the one he now has! He has it on our 'fridg. We are going to cover it with paper and let him draw on it.
I took a bunch of signs to our local Renaissance Festival and they are going to recycle them. The guy saw a magnetic sign and got excited. He wanted that magnet!
(By the way, I have not seen our renaissance festival use any street spam.)
