"Vigilant"

I just found this forum but have been removing signs in S phoenix for about a year. The whole S Phoenix area is sign hell. I counted about 35 signs at the intersection into my development. Something snapped. I had enough.

I remove the signs as soon as they appear. I check the intersection in the morning when I leave for work and when I come home. My wife gets home for work a few hours after me and she checks to.

Most of the people posting have gotten the idea and moved on to other intersections. I have to laugh as I drive home and see new signs posted in S Phoenix but not at my intersection.

I still get a few signs a month posted at my intersection but not like it used to be.

Recently one of the sign posters who was new to my neighborhood left me a note on the back of one of the signs. He referred to me as slasher. I cut up signs so they can not be reused. He said, keep slashing because he will keep putting (posting) and then signed the bottom of the sign Putter. He came back the following week and did it again.

I was on a mission to get this guy to stop. After 2 weeks of me driving around S Phoenix looking for his particular signs and getting about 30 signs every Friday night within a few hours of him posting we actually met.

I had just pulled up a sign and some guy in traffic yelled.

What are you doing? I just put that there.

He got out of his vehicle and started at me with a hammer he was using the hammer to drive the stakes in.

I yelled, I am calling 911, you are attacking me with a hammer. He realized what it looked like and got back in his vehicle and drove off in a big hurry.

I have not seen any of his signs any where in S Phoenix for week.

Welcome... That's what happenend here. I got tired of all the signs on our right of way we maintain. In fact, they often blocked our view pulling out of our neighborhood. I've been taking them down for 14 years.

Then, they moved their sign placement just down the street. You know what? It still looked awful. I removed them too. They moved a bit farther, or around the corner....

I got them too.

Once I realized that these signs are ugly litter, and that they were against the law. I got brazen about it. Pick them up on my daily walks and make at least one sweep a week with the truck. This five miles is known as "Sign free" by most spammers. They realize their signs don't last.

I used to get 200+ signs a week. Now, I sometimes get 20. That's on a thirteen mile drive. I've had several people threaten me, and two assaulted me physically. The first five years ago was in front of a cop, and he just took him away. The second, I shoved my Smith up her nose. Anybody comes at me with a hammer, gets met with my friend.

Be careful out there, and good job.

Oh, there's a hint of cool in the air, and Winter is coming! I've got to gather more firewood... And Sign stakes make great fire starters!

Ack! Bandit Signs are LITTER!
