They always seem to come back, so I thought I would try slicing the signs in half instead of relocating them to the nearest dumpster. I just hate leaving the leftovers in the ROW. I saw some sliced signs on 114W in Roanoke this morning......good to know I've got some help out there, thanks whoever you are!

This has been a vey constroversial topic since day one. Here's what several of we "old timers" do when the spammer doesn't take the hint.
Slice and dice leaving about half of the sign, removing the phone contact or url address. Let it stand for about two or three days then go back and remove the remains. That has worked very well in the past. Other than leaving a temporary eyesore, it accomplishes two things. It brings public attention to the blight and it put the spammers on notice that "no steet spam allowed here".

Slicing / sharking signs also lets CE and residents know that citizens will not tolerate illegal signs, but they also will not do the job that citizens pay our public servants to do - that is, to keep our neighborhoods clean.
It's hard for CE to justify a larger budget if citizens are doing their work for them.
