I was on my way to a friend's housewarming party this past Saturday. The Long Island Expressway was backed up (what else is new?), so I stayed on the service road. There, I came upon new cases of street spam, zip-tied to the fence. My girlfriend made careful note of the cross streets, so I was able to return the following day and remove the litter.
I have to return to my friend's house soon. Rte. 107 in Bethpage is similarly littered.

No stickers - just a bite taken out of sign (i.e., the phone number). I first heard about this group on one of the Usenet newsgroups. At first, I just stayed in my own backyard, cleaning up the neighborhood whenever the spammers came to town. I didn't realize how widespread the problem was until I drove my brother to the airport one day. On the way back home, I couldn't help but notice how many signs there were (three to a pole, as far as the eye could see) along the boulevard. It was then that I resolved to take down the signs wherever I came across them.
